Blessing of the Animals

We invite you to come and celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis with us on Saturday, October 4 at 10 am with a Blessing of the Animals.  The Catholic Tradition respects animals as God’s creatures, worthy of our care.  St. Francis wrote a Canticle of the Creatures, an ode to God’s living things: “All praise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures.”  Let us have a procession of animals, everything from dogs, cats, and hamsters.  See you in the Gathering Circle in front of the church!

Anointing of the Sick

Our quarterly Healing Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, at 10:00 am. We invite all who need prayer for health of body, mind, or spirit to join us for this wonderful Sacrament. Father Terry will pray over each person and then anoint their forehead and palms with the Oil of the Sick, which was consecrated by Archbishop Gregory during Holy Week. Even if you are not in need of the Sacrament, come to support and pray for those who are.

Catechist Certification

The process for catechist certification in the Archdiocese of Atlanta is contained in the document Communicating the Catholic Message. Catechist certification builds competency in four dimensions: Catechist, Theology, Learner and Methods. The certification hour requirements for parish catechists and Catholic school teachers are different, however, both build competency in the four key dimensions.

  • Communicating the Catholic Message [English]

Catechists working toward certification may track hours using the log sheets below:

  • Parish Catechist Certification Log: Basic [English: PDF | WORD] [Spanish: PDF | WORD]
  • Parish Catechist Certification Log: Intermediate [English: PDF | WORD] [Spanish: PDF | WORD]
  • Parish Catechist Certification Log: Advanced [English: PDF | WORD] [Spanish: PDF | WORD]
