Corpus Christi at St. Mary Magdalene – June 5 & 6

Please join us for the Eucharistic procession following
all Masses on June 5 and 6, 2021.

We will have our first ever Eucharistic Procession following each of the masses on the weekend of June 5 and 6, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The Corpus Christi procession is “a public witness of faith and worship of the Most Blessed Sacrament.”  The bishops in the US have recognized that we need to reconnect to our faith, especially to the gift of the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.  Our young people will be making their First Holy Communion at these Masses as well.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Echo Intern – Housing Needs

St. Mary Magdalene Announces our first Echo Intern from the University of Notre Dame.

Please help us welcome our intern, Ellie Reed, by providing necessities for the apartment that the Archdiocese has obtained for the three of them.

Echo is a graduate service program for Master of Arts students in Theology at the University of Notre Dame.  The heart of Echo’s mission is to form leaders to serve the Church. Echo participants spend two summers at Notre Dame studying, and two academic years (August through May) providing direct service to a Catholic parish such as St. Mary Magdalene.  Echo will be starting with three students serving as interns in the Archdiocese of Atlanta for the 2021-2023 school years, serving at our parish, St. George in Newnan and OLPH Parish/The Catholic Center at West Georgia College in Carrollton.

The Center and Parishes are responsible for providing household items. Below is an abbreviated list of what is required.  If you can help, please let Kathy Kelly Huey know kkhuey@smmcatholic.org.  If you wish, gift cards to Bed Bath and Beyond, Target and Walmart would be greatly appreciated.  For those who wish to shop online you may visit https://smile.amazon.com/hz/charitylist/ls/1SPX4ESPNQ9B4 which has items you may purchase which will be sent directly to the housing chairperson at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Carrolton.
