Currently we have lost our overall ability to reach the people we had been serving who are in care facilities (nursing homes, assisted living etc.).  Our Eucharistic Ministers to the sick and homebound cannot get into care facilities, and given the elevated Corona virus risk to those who live there it appears that it may be a while before we are able to take them communion.  In many cases these are the people who built and nurtured our parishes over the years and now they need us.

We are seeking to utilize parishioners at Saint Mary Magdalene, Holy Trinity, or St. George that may work in some capacity at these care homes and have access to these facilities to bring the body of our Lord to those who have not been able to receive communion.

We can train you quickly, and provide materials you will need.  We could also have the current EM’s to these people work with you by phone to give additional support. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please contact:

Attendance at Mass
The Archbishop firmly prays and hopes that this period of restricted activity will be used as an occasion for all in the Archdiocese of Atlanta to nurture their relationship to Jesus Christ through personal prayer, devotions, spiritual reading and attendance at Holy Mass and adoration for those who can attend safely.  He does, however, extend the period during which persons with health reasons or concerns are dispensed from the Sunday obligation, now through Sunday, August 1, 2020.  He continues to urge all who are sick or suspect any threat of sickness to attend Mass virtually via the many online and televised options available.

Please welcome Joseph Carter who will be spending the summer with our parish.

My home parish is St. Joseph’s in Marietta where I attended mass weekly with family for the past five years. I am the youngest of my two older siblings, both sisters. I came into my faith later in my life when I was around thirteen years old, and ever since I have been deeply invested in growing in my faith and prayer life. I enjoyed especially helping out in youth groups as those shared moments within the community helped me further realize that, God-willing, my vocation is the priesthood. In 2018, I graduated from Pebblebrook High School while in their magnet program for the performing arts where I took part in acting and dancing in school plays and musicals. I just completed my first year of philosophy at St. Joseph’s Seminary College in Louisiana and I am excited to be able to serve you this summer.
